Succession Announcement – Unifi Services

To our premier partners,

We want you to be among the first to know that we have begun the process of executing our leadership succession and transition plan.

We are pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2021, Karan Ishwar was promoted to Group CEO of Argenbright Holdings, the parent company of our three business units including SecurAmerica, ERMC and Unifi. Karan will work as a Co-CEO with Tom Marano for the first six months until Tom takes an official advisory role with the organization in July.

Karan joined the company seven years ago and has excelled through each promotion he has been given from group CFO in 2018 to group President in 2020.  He has been instrumental in helping grow our organization from $70 million to over $1 billion in annual revenue, and we are confident in his ability to lead the enterprise to the next phase of development as a multi-billion dollar group of global companies.  His promotion also stands to reiterate our entrepreneurial culture and commitment to growing and promoting talent internally.

As an additional step in our process, we are adding the new CEO position of Unifi.  We are pleased to announce after conducting an exhaustive search process, that we have recruited Gautam Thakkar to take on this role as of January 4, 2021. Gautam has more than two decades of diverse global experience serving multiple boards, working with software and technology platforms, consulting various service industry businesses, and most recently excelling in Insurance and Financial Services. He has worked in start-ups and turnaround environments across large public and PE backed private companies in Asia, Europe and North America. In his role, Gautam will have overall responsibility for Unifi and report to Karan and Tom.

We are also happy to announce that we are promoting Hendrik (Henk) Teunis to the role of Chief Financial Officer of Unifi.  Henk has done a stellar job during his two years as VP of Finance & Accounting at Unifi building a sustainable financial infrastructure as a standalone company.  While managing a system transition to implement new financial accounting and tax systems, he set up our procurement and tax functions from the ground up, re-designed the payroll processes, managed our Treasury and cash management functions, and led two rounds of financing to set up revolver facilities with our lenders in the last 18 months. Henk will report to Gautam in his new role.

At the same time, it is with great sadness that we announce Adam Taylor has decided to leave the company to pursue other career objectives. We want to thank Adam for his many contributions to Unifi as he has been one of the key people instrumental in the formation of this joint venture with our partner, Delta Air Lines, and has helped grow the business through a very turbulent time in the aviation industry. We wish Adam all the best in his future endeavors.

Please join in welcoming Karan, Gautam and Henk into their new roles. We look forward to your continued support in 2021 as we are very optimistic about the prospects of each of our businesses for the future.
